Anya Volz, a comedian who hails from Vermont who is a resident of New York City. Her comedic style has been described as funny, surprising and not even too preachy by men from all over America. She is a contributing writer and creator of content for Riot Fest The Hard Times and Macaulay Culkin's Bunny Ears. She has been featured in BuzzFeed and Vulture along with numerous national comedy festivals such as that of the New York Comedy Festival. She is co-hosting Best Mistakes, a podcast featuring fucking up together with Brooklyn comic Nika Lomazzo. The show she co-hosted and produced was Our Time of the Week in The Stand Comedy Club main room as well as the weekly show Thirst Trap With Anya Volz which was hosted at legendary venues like Union Hall Caveat and House of YES and has been published in The New York Times as well as Time Out New York. Half English and half Spanish she is the daughter of Dennis Alan Taylor a former banker, and Jennifer Marina Joy a psychologist. Her father was an Argentine with Scottish and English ancestry. Her mother is of Spanish as well as English ancestral roots. Taylor-Joy has five siblings four from her father's prior marriage. Family lived in Buenos Aires up until Taylor-Joy reached the age of six, later moving to Victoria district of London. Taylor-Joy says the move in London was stressful and that she didn't learn English to avoid moving back to Argentina. Her school had to change between Northlands in order to attend Hill House. Later, she enrolled in Queen's Gate School where she trained in ballet and appeared in school plays. After she turned 16, she quit school in order to follow a full-time career path in acting. Taylor-Joy was an actress as a kid and was sure she would eventually become an actor. Her dreams were realized when Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Management offered her a position as a model.
