Gerina Stevenson, who is the Mexican daughter from Rita Stevenson Stevenson and Alan Stevenson Stevenson was born in Mexico. Her heritage is Mexican-American and is American through nationality. She has always been a fan of sports. Gerina started to play golf when she was just 15 years old. Gerina was able to complete her secondary schooling during her time at Goddard High School. As a senior in high school, she took home the New Mexico state golf tournament. She was a volleyball player and participated in state championships. The year 2003 was the year she began her studies at the University of Texas. As a senior, she was a winner in each tournament in which she played in. In her undergraduate year, she received Conference USA's individual player of season and UTEP's Female Athletic of the Year.
